You may have some leftover crab legs from last night’s amazing dinner or maybe you bought a couple pounds of frozen crab legs and want to use them to create that special meal.  The question that you all want answered is what is the best way to reheat them? No matter if they are king, snow or grilled crab legs, the following options will result in

Steam Them

This is the most popular option when it comes to reheating crab legs.

  • Boil a pot of water
  • Get a colander and place crab legs on it
  • Place colander over the boil  water, so that it can get the rising steam
  • Steam the crab legs for 5 minutes, or until the meat is thoroughly heated

Boil Them

As long as the crab legs you are heating up are not seasoned, then boiling is an ideal option. It is important that the legs are not seasoned beforehand.

  • Add seasoning to the boiling water

Baking is another good option that will get your crab legs perfectly warm and heated in no time.

A Plate of Ribs

Let me start by saying that reheated ribs will never be as good as when you get them fresh off the grill. However! It is better to have some ribs than no ribs at all.

So how do you go about reheating those left over ribs you have in the kitchen? There are many different methods available such as reheating them in the oven, grill or microwave. The best one to use is really dependent on you and this generally based on how quickly you want them done.

Reheat in the Oven

The oven is a great way to reheat those leftover or frozen ribs you have been saving for a rainy day. As I mentioned above, you will never be able to capture the magical taste as when they first came off the grill; however being 90% close in taste is just as good.

Steps to Reheat Ribs in the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 180F (or lowest setting)
  • If you want to add more sauce to it, you can before wrapping
  • Wrap ribs in foil
  • Place wrapped ribs on a baking sheet/pan or a cookie tray
  • Reheat for about one hour, or until they are heated to your desired level
  • Take out and enjoy

Reheat on the Grill

If you grilled your ribs at home or have a grill, then reheating the ribs this way would be really good idea. Even though this method can take a bit longer, it is good to prepare ahead of time if you are going to be hungry.

Steps to Reheat Ribs on the Grill

  • Preheat your grill
  • Take out the ribs you need  and place on the grill
  • While the ribs are reheating, add some new barbecue sauce to the meat
  • Grill on both sides until it is reheated properly. (The timing depends on your grill)
  • Make sure that the ribs do no burn.
  • Enjoy!

Reheat in the Microwave

The microwave is the quickest option available will get the ribs reheated in no time. BUT!!!!!!! If you microwave them the wrong way, then you could end up with ribs that don’t taste good, but also some that are very mushy. You see essentially steam the meat from the inside, so if you go too long, it can make meat mushy.1

Steps to Reheat Ribs in the Microwave

  • Get a Microwave safe container and place the ribs in it
  • Cover the container so that the juices, when heated, do not end up splashing all inside the microwave.
  • Turn the microwave heating power to low
  • Microwave until Ribs are heated up (You may need to keep checking to see if they are at the heated level that you desire).
  • Enjoy!

Best Way to Reheat a Calzone

Mmmmmmmmmm, what would I do for a piping hot calzone! Ohhh, I am soo hungry, I actually envy you guys who are looking up the best way to reheat a calzone. Clearly you have one sitting in the fridge, just waiting to be devoured. Since I will not be able to get my grubby little hands on one, I can help you guys out and tell you the best method to use to ensure that you get the perfectly reheated calzone.

Do It In the Oven!

Honestly, this is by far the best method to reheat your calzone. If done properly, you can have it tasting (food tastes the best fresh out of the oven) as if you got it freshly made.

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
  • Take calzone out of the fridge and place on a baking sheet
  • You can spritz the calzone with a bit of oil, as this will give it a nice golden look when reheated
  • Place the calzone in the oven and bake the calzone for 15-20 minutes
  • You want to give it enough time for the filling inside to fully reheat
  • Once finished, take out, let cool for a little bit and dig in.

Do Not Use the Microwave

If you want to turn your calzone into crap, then by all means use your microwave. Microwaving this food will make the crust all soggy and it won’t be crisp as if you did it in the oven. Using the microwave is a no no and it is something I definitely cannot recommend.

Best Way to Reheat Pumpkin Pie

As my eyes fixate on the golden brown, simply delicious pumpkin pie, my mouth begins to salivate as I anticipate the sweet yumminess that the pie is about to deliver. As you can see, I am a BIG pumpkin pie fan. It is honestly one of the best things to eat, not just at thanksgiving. With me being such a connoisseur, I will drop a little knowledge as to the best way to reheat this pie. No need to worry about overcooking it or burning it, this is the perfect method and it will work every single time.

The Best Way to Reheat a Pumpkin Pie

If the pumpkin pie that you want to reheat has not been in the refrigerator and has been sitting out at room temperature, then you are already ahead of the game. You can start by:

  • Preheating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Place room temperature pumpkin pie in the oven
  • Reheat for 10 minutes
  • Take out and serve.

The pill will be nice and warm, without the crust/filling getting crispy or burned. Enjoy!!

*Another little trick you can use is that if you have something in the oven and you are finished baking, you can turn the stove off and place the pie in there to reheat. This is another way in which to reheat the pie, without overcooking or burning it.

What About Refrigerated or Frozen Pies?

If pumpkin pie is refrigerated or frozen, then you would follow the same process as listed above. The key is to make sure the pies are at room temperature before you put them in the oven. If frozen, you can let it sit until it has reached room temperature. The same can be said about pies that are kept in the refrigerator.

Once this is done, just place them in the oven, following the instructions listed above.

Best Way to Reheat an Omelette

An Omelette and Toast

Did you know omelettes are cost efficient and healthy (if done properly) meals that will keep you full for a very long time. They are also super easy to make and you can get very creative and add just about anything.

Because of omelettes are so easy to make, you will often find that some people will make them from the night before for a quick breakfast, or carry it with them to lunch.

If you landed on this page, then you are probably trying to find out how to reheat an omelette. Worry not my friends, as I will give you different options that will make reheating this wonderful egg dish painlessly easy.

Zap it With the Microwave

If you want the quickest way to go about reheating omelettes, I suggest that you use the microwave. While the microwave has a reputation for destroying foods, it gets a pass for this simple egg dish.

Steps

  • Place omelette on a microwave safe container or dish
  • Cover with a damp cloth
  • Microwave on the lowest setting for maybe 30-40 seconds, checking to ensure it is thoroughly heated.
  • If heated properly, take out and enjoy.

The reason why you want to use the damp cloth and have it on the lowest setting is that often times microwaves can overcook eggs and have them tasting rubbery and disgusting. Once you have it on the low setting, it can warm the omlett up properly without changing its texture.

On the Stovetop is Another Good Idea

While the microwave is super quick, you can also go about reheating an omelette on the stovetop. This is another quick method that should have you enjoying your meal in no time.

Steps

  • Get a non-stick pan or regular pan and add some olive oil
  • Allow the pan to heat up on a low flame
  • Add in the omlette and allow it to heat up properly for about 1-2 minutes on each side.
  • Once finished, take out and enjoy.

As you can see, the steps above are all easy and it really should not take out anytime to get your omelette warmed up and ready to eat.

Best Way to Reheat a Subway Sandwich

Subway Sub

You are really not living unless you get yourself a footlong sandwich from Subway. While this may seem greedy to some, eating one of those bad boys will keep you full for a week or longer.

Above was my bad attempt at humor. The truth is, anytime I get a footlong, I have to resort to throwing the leftovers in the fridge and keep it ready for later. Once it’s in the fridge, you know that that at some point in time, it is going to need to be reheated and warmed up.  So I have some amount of experience when it comes to that.

If you landed on this page, then you are probably are looking for how to reheat Subway sandwiches. Down below I will highlight some of the best options around and will have you eating your sub the way it was meant to be eaten.

Best Bet is the Oven!

If you want to enjoy a warmed up Subway sandwich, then the oven/toaster oven is by far your best option. While it is not the quickest way to reheat things, it can definitely heat it up to almost perfect levels.

Subway Hot Sandwiches

If you had any of the hot sandwiches from Subway that needed reheating, then warming them up is actually pretty quick and easy.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • Place sandwich on baking sheet and heat up for 10-15 minutes. Be sure to check to ensure that it is fully heated all the way through.
  • Take out and enjoy.

Subway Sandwiches With Cold Cuts/Veggies

Sandwiches that have cold cuts or vegetables require a bit more work when it comes to warming them. This is because hot veggies are yuck and the same can be said of certain cold cuts. There is still a work around, but it will require a bit more effort.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • Open sub and take out lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and cold cuts.
  • Try and scrape off as much of the condiments as possible.
  • Place bread in the oven for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Check to make sure your bread is warmed up properly and also to ensure it is not getting too crispy.
  • Assemble the sandwich back together and feast!

Only Use the Microwave If You’re About to Die of Hunger!

Hopefully my message reaches you loud and clear. Under no circumstances should you reheat a subway sandwich in a microwave unless you are about to die of hunger. That is the only time you should use it…..Thank You!

The reason why I had to get so extreme with my message about no microwaves is that bread and microwaves are a toxic mix.  If you do decide to throw your sub sandwich in the nuke, best believe it is going to come out soggy and just straight up disgusting. You are not going to enjoy your meal and it would be a total waste in my opinion. So stick with oven, you will not regret it if you do.

Steps

  • Place meatballs in a microwave safe container.

Use the Oven/Toaster Oven

If you want to have crispy reheated onion rings that match up perfectly with your burger or fries, then you definitely need to put them in the oven. This will allow them to be heated properly and also maintain their crispness.

Steps:

  •  Turn on oven and heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Wrap onion rings in foil and place in oven.
  • Heat for about 10-15 minutes, checking to ensure that they are heated properly.
  • When done right, the rings should be piping hot, crispy and ready to enjoy.

Steps:

Stay Away from the Microwave

If you want to be royally upset, then don’t use the microwave to heat up your onion rings. It’s a waste of good food and it is better you eat them cold, that destroying them in the microwave.

Best Way to Reheat Fried Pickles

Plate of Fried Pickles

There is something about fried pickles that puts a smile on your face. For those of you who absolutely enjoy this tasty little food, you will understand where I am coming from. These pickles by themselves or with part of a meal are absolutely amazing and sometimes it is hard to just eat one serving. :)

If for whatever reason you have some pickles in the fridge or you just need to reheat them, below I will highlight some of the best options available to go about reheating fried pickles. This is a quick guide and you should be up and running, getting ready to warm up your meal in no time.

#1 Choice, The Oven!

If you want the best way to reheat fried pickles, then you definitely need to look at using the oven. While it may take a bit of time to get everything reheated, the food will still be able to maintain the fried crispiness when you are finished.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Place fried pickles on a baking sheet.
  • Reheat pickles for about 10 to 15 minutes (depends on the type of oven that you use).
  • Once it has been fully reheated, you can take it out and enjoy.

You Could Always Re-Fry Them

While the oven is a good option, You could also take the pickles and re-fry them in a skillet. This is actually a quick process and you could be done in a couple of minutes, even though the I don’t think it is the healthiest option around.

Steps:

  • Heat a skillet on the stovetop.
  • Add in some oil and waited it is fully heated.
  • Throw in the pickles and keep stirring them around until they are fully heated.
  • Allow to cool off and enjoy.

Note: If you happen to have a deep fryer, you could always just heat up some oil in it and throw the pickles in there and allow them to be fried all over again. You could keep them in there for a couple of minutes, just so that they are heated up and ready to go. This would be much better than pan frying them, but how many people have deep fryers sitting around :)

Stay Away from Microwave

When it comes to reheating fried pickles, the microwave should not even be an option. The only time you should consider it, it’s if you want to heat them up really quickly and then finish them off in the oven. Other than that, Fried foods and the microwave do not mix at all. What will happen is that you will end up with soggy pickles as the microwave will make them extremely hot, but you will lose the crispy exterior that you so would enjoy. The only real option for reheating these treats are either with the oven or the skillet on the stovetop.

Fried Fish with Fries

Many of the options are pretty quick and you will also learn about which ones you have to avoid

Start With the Oven

So how do you reheat fried fish? The oven is a great option (You could always deep fry:)) and even though it will take some time (10-15 minutes), the end result is worth the wait. The food will come out as close to as when you first had it and that’s all that matters.

  • Allow the fish to reheat for about 10 to 15 minutes (depending on oven).
  • Keep checking to make sure that it is fully reheated in the center.

Use a Deep Fryer

You could always use a deep fryer and re-do the fish; however I know many people do not have a deep fryer just sitting around the house. If you do, this is actually a really quick method, even though it is not the healthiest.

Steps:

  • Heat up some oil in the deep fryer.
  • Throw in the fish into the fryer and allow to cook for a little bit.
  • Take out and wrap in paper towels to soak up the excess oil.

If you want a really quick method to reheat fried fish, then you can also do it in a skillet on the stovetop. This is actually a much quicker method than the oven and you will be able to have crispy fish in no time.

Steps:

  • Add some oil to a skillet and reheat on the stovetop.
  • Put the pieces of fried fish in the skillet and refry them for a couple of minutes.
  • Once heated thoroughly, you can take them out.
  • Wrap in paper towels to soak up the excess oil.

No Microwave

If you want to end up angry or with tears in your eyes, then by all means use the microwave. If you want to enjoy your fried fish, the way you had it originally, then don’t even consider using the nuke. I have always highlighted that when it comes to fried foods in the microwave, the both of them do not mix, like oil and water. The main reason is that the microwave will generally cause fried foods to be soggy and not crispy like they should be. If you do not care about the crispiness factor and you just want to eat, then can go right ahead and do whatever you’re doing.
