Chinese Food on a table

When you say comfort food that is amazingly delicious, Chinese easily tops the list. Everyone has that one favorite dish that once they have it, it puts a super smile on their face. The mere mention of beef and broccoli, sweet-and-sour pork, orange/Kung Pao chicken, egg rolls and more are dishes that make any takeout night complete.

I am pretty sure that there have been days where you had so much Chinese food, that you had to put some in the fridge for the next day. This is good, because you get to enjoy an amazing meal two days in a row, but the question that I am pretty sure you want answered is, how do you reheat Chinese food?

There are ton of options available; it really depends on how much time you are willing to wait and type of food that you will be reheating.

Skillet/Stove

Ideally if you are one who wants to enjoy leftover Chinese like when you first had it, then you probably should try reheating it on the stovetop. This is by far the best option available, simply because you are able to reheat food evenly and quickly, without waiting a long time.

  • Heat up the skillet so that it is nice and hot.
  • Add a small amount of olive oil to the skillet.
  • If you have rice, you can reheat that first. Or you can just mix everything together and kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
  • If you want to do the meat, you can throw it in, stirring it around until it is thoroughly reheat it.
  • Take out and enjoy.

Microwave

If you look through all the articles that I have written on reheating food, you will notice that I am not a fan of the microwave. However, when it comes to Chinese food, the microwave can be a very quick way to get everything heated up properly and quickly. The only issue is that you have to be careful about what you are reheating. Fried or crispy foods do not work with the microwave, as they will more than often come out soggy after taking a spin in the microwave. If you have crispy/fried foods, it is best to do it in the oven.

  1. Scoop everything into a microwaveable bowl or plate.
  2. Cover with plastic or Saran wrap.
  3. Reheat for one to three minutes (depending on the power level of the microwave).
  4. Keep checking, to make sure that the food is heated evenly.
  5. Take out and enjoy.

The Oven

The oven is the slowest of all the methods on the list. If you are super hungry and need to eat like IMMEDIATELY, then prepare ahead of time if you are going to be using the oven, as it is going to take a couple of minutes to get everything heated properly.

  1. Preheat oven to 350 Degrees Farenheit.
  2. Scrape all the leftover Chinese food into an oven safe dish.
  3. Wrap with foil.
  4. Allow the food to reheat for 15-20 minutes. You can check to ensure it is fully heated to your liking.
  5. If you have fried or crispy food, you can put it on a baking sheet and allow it to get heated up that way.

Fried calamari is pretty tasty and you know if you find a restaurant or food spot that does them just perfectly, then you just found gold! You will be able to enjoy this crispy little treats just the way you like them and honestly, everything will be right in the world at that given time.

Sometimes you may have some leftover calamari in the fridge that needs reheating, but the question is, how do you do it? Well it’s a good thing that you ended up on this page. I will give you a quick overview that will highlight how to reheat fried calamari so that it is crispy and super delicious.

Use the Oven

If you are looking into reheating fried calamari, the oven is by far the best option that is available. It will take a couple of minutes, but when done in the oven, you should be able to “almost” get it back to the same state when you first had it.

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Place the calamari on a baking sheet
  • Reheat for 10-15 minutes or until it is fully reheated
  • Check to make sure it is thoroughly heated to the level that you want
  • Take it out and enjoy

Do Not Use the Microwave

I know many of you would just go to the microwave as easiest reheating method, however if you have fried calamari, stay far away from the nuke. When it comes to fried foods, once you microwave them, they will not crispy and it will have the opposite effect. The fried food will actually end up soggy and disgusting. Now I am pretty sure you want to fully enjoy your calamari the way you had it originally. If that is the case, then throw it in the oven that is really the only way to do it.

Yum Yum, Scones with Jam and nice cup of tea is something that dreams are made of, especially if the scones are warm and freshly done! It might be difficult to just eat one, or two, or three, or…..

So you might have some scones that you want to reheat and you want to find out what are the best options? Well take a look at my reheating guide below that will highlight the best options available.

The Oven!

If you want to reheat your scones, then it would be a good idea to reheat them in the oven. While this will take a couple of minutes to do, the results will have them tasting as if they were freshly made.

Note: If the scones were frozen, allow them to thaw until they are at room temperature.

Steps

  • Preheat the oven so that it is 350°F.
  • Place the scones on a baking sheet.
  • Place inside the oven and allow them to reheat for 10-12 minutes.
  • Once they are fully heated up, you can take them up out and serve.

So What About the Microwave?

While it might seem like a good idea to throw the scones in the microwave to heat them up, you will probably end up doing more harm than good.

Reheating the scones in the microwave will cause them to come out soggy, especially if they are heated up for too long. If you’re only doing it for a couple of seconds, then you can probably get away with it, but the oven is definitely the best option available and should be used when possible.

Best Way to Reheat a Quesadilla

$

0

best-way-to-reheat-quesadillaMy mouth is just watering thinking about crispy cheesorific quesadillas! Honestly, this Mexican food is like crack, especially if it is done to perfection. It is really criminal how good it is.

So ok, enough of my ranting and obsession over food J! I am pretty sure you landed on this page trying to find out how to reheat quesadillas. Well, you are in luck. Below I will highlight a couple methods that will get these Mexican treats heated up properly, quickly and with no fuss.

Stovetop

By far the best method to go about reheating quesadillas is by using the stovetop. All you have to do is throw that bad boy into a pan and in a couple of minutes you will be able to enjoy this really amazing creation. The good thing is the stovetop heats it up quickly and you are still able to maintain the crispy texture as well as enjoy all that oozing cheese.

Steps:

  • Preheat a frying pan and spray it with nonstick oil or some butter.
  • Take the quesadilla and place it in the frying pan and allow it to reheat for 20-40 seconds on each side.
  • Once it is heated up properly, you can then take out and serve.

As you can see it is very quick and easy to do and you can have everything reheated in under five minutes.

The Oven

Another way to go about reheating quesadillas is by putting them in the oven. While this is good at warming up everything, it is going to take a bit longer than doing it on the stovetop. Regardless, you are still going to get pretty good results just by using the oven.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Place the quesadillas in an oven safe dish.
  • Place in the oven and allow it to heat up for around 5 to 15 minutes (depending on how cold it is).
  • Once it is heated up to the desired temperature, take out and enjoy.

Don’t Even Bother With the Microwave

If you love your quesadilla, then don’t even consider using the microwave. This is a definite no-no and if you choose to go with this method, then you will probably regret it. When you use a microwave, your quesadilla is going to come out soggy and not crispy. If you are super hungry and you do not mind eating soggy food, then by all means go ahead. If want to have a really good food experience, then go with options that I mentioned above.

best-way-to-reheat-a-fried-eggSo you got a fried egg sitting out for sometime or even had it stored in the fridge, you are probably wondering how do you go about reheating it, so that it is edible and like you first had it.

If you are trying to figure out how to reheat a fried egg, you are in luck, simply because I am going to give you a quick and short guide that will highlight all you need to know.

Reassess Why You Are Reheating This Egg

Before I getting into the different methods, the first thing you need to look at is why are you trying to warm up this egg? It takes only a couple of minutes to fry an egg and it would actually be tastier than one that has been sitting around for awhile. You also need to be aware that heating the egg would cause it to be cooked some more, so the texture and taste would be a bit different.

Nonetheless, whatever your reason is, you can find out what option is the best to go about reheating.

Refry the Egg

If for whatever reason you have to reheat, it is best to do it in a frying pan with some oil. This will get everything warmed up pretty quickly, but also keep in mind that you will also be recooking the egg, so you do not want to overdo it.

Steps:

  • Preheat the frying fan on a low flame.
  • Add some oil, non-stick spray or butter.
  • Put the egg in and allow it to heat up to the level that you want.
  • Once it is fully warmed up, take out and enjoy.

As you can see, the method is pretty simple and it will take only a couple of minutes to get everything steaming hot. It is the same amount of time to do it from scratch, so keep that in mind.

Microwave is a NO GO

If you enjoy eating leather, then by all means go ahead and warm up your fried egg in the microwave. This is actually one of the worst things you could do, simply because the egg is going to come out rubbery and disgusting. Yes it would be piping hot, but it would be pretty much inedible. Stick with the stove top or do it over from scratch. Trust me, your stomach and tastebuds would appreciate it tremendously.

Whether you get your tamales homemade or buy them from the store, you pretty much know that this Mexican food is going to be a slam dunk. It is super delicious and I personally have to eat a chicken or jalapeno/cheese like once a week.

So you might have a couple of tamales left over or you got a couple from your local store and you want to get them piping hot so you can enjoy the wrapped up awesomeoness; how do you go about that? Below I will highly some simple steps you can take when it comes to reheating tamales.

Steam Those Bad Boys!

Tamales are cooked by steaming them, so when it comes to reheating, you can do it the same way.

Steps:

  1. Fill your steamer with water
  2. Place tamales in the steamer
  3. Turn on the burners till the water starts to boil
  4. If you have refrigerated tamales, allow them to steam for 15-20 minutes
  5. If you have frozen tamales, steam them for 20-30 minutes.

Pretty quick and they will be perfectly heated up and ready to be annihilated!

You can check out the video below to get 1st hand look at how you can steam your tamales. It also gives insight as to what to do if you do not have a steamer.

Throw them in the Microwave

While everyone might not have a steamer on hand, the microwave is another good option to use when it comes to reheating tamales. It can get the job done quickly and they would be just as good as if you had it in the steamer.

Steps:

  1. Take tamales and cover with plastic wrap and place in a microwave safe container
  2. Put them in the microwave and zap them for 2-5 minutes (depending on the amount you have and how cold it is)
  3. Once heated up you can take out and enjoy.
  4. If the tamales are frozen, you will have to defrost them. This can be done in the microwave as well.

The Oven/Toaster Oven is Also an Option

While all the methods above are pretty quick and will get the tamales done right, you could also do them in oven, if you do not have a steamer or microwave. This is going to take a bit longer and you will not have the same results, as you are essentially baking them in the oven. They will still get reheated, it’s just that the eating experience will be a bit different.

Steps:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees
  2. Take the tamales out of the husks.
  3. Place them in the pyrex dish or baking sheet.
  4. Place in the oven and allow them to reheat for 10-20 minutes (depends on how cold they were).
  5. Once you feel that they are heated up properly and outside has started to crisp a little, then they should be good to go.

There are Also Other Options to Try

If you are looking for other interesting reheating methods such as using the stove top or a deep fryer, then the website Homemade-Tamales.com has some pretty detailed instructions. You can get some more options to try and some of them actually make the tamales a bit more flavorful and different.

The Oven Is Your Go to Choice

While there is nothing better than freshly made Taco Bell, you can “attempt” to warm it up to some degree if you are just looking to have something warm to enjoy. It won’t be as good as the first time, but it’s better than eating it cold.

The oven is best way to really heat things up, so take a look at the steps below.

Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Take out all the cold fillings out of your Taco Bell meal (lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, anything that will taste yucky warmed up).
  • Wrap your given meal in aluminum foil and place in an oven safe dish.
  • Reheat the Taco Bell meal for about 15-20 minutes, or until fully warmed up.
  • Take out and enjoy.

You Could Heat Somethings in a Skillet

This is where we get a bit resourceful. If you are feeling lazy or your oven isn’t working, then you can try to reheat on a skillet. The key is to make sure that you do not burn it, but also make sure everything is warmed up perfectly.

Steps:

  • Just like the oven method, you need to make sure that you take out all the cold stuff that’s going to get disgusting if heated up
  • Heat up a skillet or non-stick pan on low-medium heat
  • Spray with non-stick oil
  • Put in the Taco bell item and allow it to heat up on one side, then flip it on the other
  • You could also cover the pan with a lid or plate, allow the heat to circulate through the food, heating it up properly.
  • Once it is fully heated and you are not burning it in the process, you can take it out and enjoy.

The Microwave is Iffy

You definitely will not be able to reheat anything crispy in the microwave, as it is going to come out soggy. So all those hard tacos and nachos, don’t even think about it. The microwave should be pretty decent with anything soft.

Steps:

  • Place Taco bell meal in microwave safe dish (remember to take out the cold stuff)
  • You can let everything heat up for 30 seconds to a minute, depending on how much stuff you have, or if it was in the refrigerator
  • Once it is heated up, you can take it out and enjoy.
